Recart LTD Service Sales Engineer - France, Southern Europe, Northern Africa Region This is a key position which is critical to the Company in achieving its business objectives and it has major account and territory responsibility.
The principal reason for the existence of the job is to plan, organise, promote and achieve budgeted volumes of business for inspections, servicing, maintenance, repairs, retrofits and spare parts for Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Axial Compressors and associated equipment in an assigned geographical territory or customer base within the EMA division.
Business is to be achieved at operating plan margin levels and is therefore likely to be at the higher end of the market in terms of user and equipment service requirements, technology application and price propensity.
This is a line function with a minimum of activities covered by specific written instructions. It is development of business with accountability for results.
This is a creative job involving planning, co-coordinating, marketing, pricing, quoting, promoting and selling and assembling complex projects to bring about packaged solutions.
The job requires persuasive selling skills, ingenuity, the ability to create new ideas, motivate others and overcome buying objectives and recognition of benefits which can be enjoyed by the customer.
This job is fundamental to the Company's planned expansion programme to capture business in both new and existing marketplaces. It therefore requires the investigation of customer needs, the development of new accounts, and the application of Company capabilities to satisfy the requirements of the marketplace, whilst maintaining existing business from existing customers.
To manage the assigned territory, the accounts therein, and the resources which go with it.
To plan, organise, promote and achieve budgeted volumes of business for inspections, servicing, maintenance, repairs, retrofits and spare parts for Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors, Axial Compressors and associated equipment.
To keep at the front of the market for the Company’s products and services and to set short, medium and long term objectives to achieve/exceed business budgets. To submit business plans annually, and business/sales reports and forecasts monthly.
To manage time and territory effectively, with planned visit schedules and the issue of trip reports and arising action requests immediately upon return. To recommend and justify the appointment of local sales representatives and to train and manage such sales representatives.
To seek out and develop new business opportunities and qualify them. To recognise and investigate customer needs and relate them to the Company’s capabilities. To maintain corporate standards in dealing with both customers and colleagues. To produce winning proposals to satisfactorily complete a customer’s project and to achieve planned margins. To facilitate the finalisation of contractual terms and conditions To monitor the Company’s performance in completing each assignment on time and in full compliance with requirements, and to provide feedback on customer satisfaction levels. To keep him/herself and his/her customers well informed regarding new technology developments from the Company’s Research and Development Departments. To participate in Road Shows, Open Days and Trade Fairs and to make sales presentations. To build a first class working relationship with a large number of prospects to ensure that the Company is given the opportunity to benefit from all potential work. To maintain accurate records and keep the Service Sales Manager well informed, especially regarding strategic issues like changes in the marketplace and the activities of competitors.

Market Focus

Users of Turbomachinery/rotating equipment comprising:

Centrifugal compressors
Axial compressors
Packaged air compressors
Steam turbines
Expanders
Blowers and fans

Status: Staff
Required Skills/Experience: Previous track record of sales within the service portfolio of Turbomachinery to the oil/petrochemical market sector (retrofits, spares, repairs, maintenance).
An innovative and self-motivated salesperson with the ability to work largely unsupervised.
Able to follow through with cold calling
Commercially aware
Someone who has successfully concluded business with targeted marketplace.
Second or third language preferable.
Desired Skills/Experience: To be found in the following hydrocarbon processing industries:

Oil production and refining
Petrochemical/chemical
Gas processing and transmission
Ammonia and fertilizer

Secondary Industries:
Power generation
Iron and steel
Paper and pulp, and textiles
Sugar
Others using steam turbines and blowers.
The position is primarily that of an individual contributor. However, the person is directly responsible for the management of the assigned territory and is required to possess a high degree of self-discipline.

Where local sales representatives are employed, management of such resources, including setting of quotas and performance monitoring, is a responsibility of the position.
Required Qualifications: BEng, BSc Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
A practical engineer.
